In 1968 Nada Barry began the Wharf Shop as a contemporary gift and educational toy shop when Sag Harbor had none. It has grown and morphed until today it is a respected specialty toy store with 3rd and 4th generations returning to shop. While 60 % toys it is also known for it’s greeting card selection which draws customers from as far east as Montauk. The dollhouses, scrimshaw, and Britains metal soldiers are unique items that also attract customers. The store has the exclusive rights to the Sag Harbor Cat’s Meow houses (facades of local buildings), which are also on the website.
Today, Gwen Waddington, Nada’s daughter and Dede O’Connell continue to run the business alongside Nada.

Congratulations to Barbara Oldak!!!!
Barbara won our anniversary drawing for a $100.00 gift certificate.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by to wish us a happy anniversary.

Saturday afternoon - Longtime customers Janice Hines, mother to 2 past employees, (right) and Gayle Pickering, mother to 2 avid shoppers (left) join Germaine and Gwen to reminisce over the store's scrapbooks
.

Lucas and Gayle Pickering with Elizabeth Berridge, all loyal customers, give us a smile while Germaine takes a moment to look at the albums.

Andrea, who's grandmother furnished an amazing dollhouse from our store, Nada and Allison, who worked for us as a teen, look for Allison's picture and share memories.

Barbara Blaisdell has come down every Christmas Eve to wish us a Merry Christmas, so we were thrilled that she came by to add anniversary wishes!
Staff Dede and Luisa came out to chat with her.

Katie and Dede help Christian Novak look for pictures of his aunt, Karen, and mom, Lori, who both worked at The Wharf Shop. Lori eventually left to put her good training to work and open her own toy store.

Nesta and Tish Remkus stopped by with congratulations. With all Nesta's children:  Pat, Carol, Robert, Tish, Susan, Nancy  and Christopher and their children, someone is always having a birthday and we get to see a lot of the Remkus family. Thank You!!!!!

Carol Williams and Kate Evarts still shop with us even though their kids are now young adults.

Gwen's son, Morgan, and friends Katie and Brian stopped by to congratulate us. Morgan was a great toy tester when young!
